Robert Morton-Jones
A prominent mid-peninsula home builder by day, Robert Morton-Jones is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Group Therapy. Robert hails from New Zealand bringing a unique international perspective to Group Therapy’s music. Over the last 20 years, Morton-Jones has performed in professional rock bands in New Zealand and the United States. Today, Robert’s powerful, soulful vocals are the heart of the Group Therapy band! Jeff Yoder
The erstwhile chief therapist, Jeff picked up his first guitar at age 12 and began playing bluegrass in the hills of his native North Carolina. The late 60’s and early 70’s had a significant effect on his musical tastes and Jeff has been a singer/songwriter, as a solo act and with bands, ever since. A career move with a Kleiner, Perkins funded start-up brought him to the San Francisco/Bay Area in 1990 after commuting from Atlanta for the firm for 6 months; he found the girl of his dreams - from Berkeley - and the rest is history as they say. Jeff plays rhythm & lead guitar and sings backup & some lead vocals for Group Therapy.
Terry Earlywine
One of the most creative in a group of creative musicians, Terry is a successful graphic designer that works with clients like Sun Microsystems and Lucent Technologies. Terry is the gifted keyboardist for Group Therapy and has honed his skills on the “88’s” in bands around the San Francisco/Bay Area since his teens. Take a listen to Group Therapy’s rendition of ‘Feelin’ Alright’ to see what we mean! Leon Russell never did it any better!
Richard Murray
Richard is truly a ‘closet’ drummer. After growing up, here on the peninsula, and playing with bands in his teens, Richard literally put his drums in the closet for the last 25 years. When Group Therapy performed at a local festival in 2004, Richard was there operating an outstanding ‘DJ’ sound system. He mentioned to the band that he could make us sound even better that night, and soon thereafter, became the ‘sound’ guy for Group Therapy. Well, in January of 2005, Group Therapy was looking for a new drummer and Richard pipes up that he used to play drums and he still had his ‘vintage’ Pearl ‘double-bass’ drum set in a closet! It didn’t take Richard long to restore his ‘chops’ Coupled with his love for contemporary classic music, Richard is the foundation of Group Therapy’s rhythm section. |
